Resources to use, adapt, and build on

Everyone in higher education is pressed for time, and these are built with that in mind. Whether you teach, lead a programme, or are finding your own way through a STEM career, the aim is that you can take something here and apply it to your own practice. The intention is to offer a well-informed contribution grounded in practice. These resources are meant to be used, adapted, and improved.

AI Equity Resource Toolkit

A practical toolkit for embedding AI literacy in a way that widens access rather than deepening the gap between students who arrive fluent with these tools and those who don’t. Developed through the Royal Society of Biology’s Bioscience Awarding Gap Network, it’s designed to be picked up and adapted for your own module or programme, whatever your discipline. You can read about bridging AI literacy and equity in education here, and the conversations that led to the development of the toolkit here.

From Master’s to PhD: a resource pack

The companion pack from the My Future in STEM webinar From Master’s to PhD: Navigating Your Research Journey in STEM. It turns the transition into doctoral study into something you can act on, through three short, independent activities: a Decision Compass for thinking honestly about whether, where, and when a PhD fits; a Cold Email Toolkit for a critical, but ‘invisible’ part of the process, which is approaching a potential supervisor; and Three Conversations in 30 Days, a structured way to build the informal knowledge that some students have and others don’t. A funding guide and further reading round it out. Shared under a Creative Commons licence — use it, adapt it, pass it on. Download the resource pack

You can read a reflection on the event on the blog, and find out more about the community behind it on the My Future in STEM page.
